The system works great. But the hub is 3” round with the power plugs in the middle of the circle. It covers up the other outlet on the receptacle. Design could have been improved by putting the plugs near the side so something can be used on the other outlet. Only one SMS phone # can be added so a backup cannot be used. Besides those minor annoyances the system works good. Local alarm. 1 sms. 1 email plus app notification. All in all good solution.

This water leak detector is easy to install/connect. I placed the sensors in my basement by the water tank. It's very convenient that I can monitor through the app when I am not home. It connected really easily and seems to be working well. I would recommend this detector to protect your house for any water damage.

I have used other standalone leak detectors before and the downsides are the battery life since the sensor is also the one generating the sound. In those cases if it's in a remote area then you don't always here it right away, by the time you do you likely need to replace the battery as well. The individual sensors feel nice and solid, the battery compartment took a decent amount of effort to open initially, assuming due to a water proof seal. I got this for a remote cabin that does have an internet connection incase a leak does happen when I am not there. That way I can go prepared knowing there is a leak rather than it being a surprise and not having the tools/parts to fix it.

I ordered this system for our RV. Since we don't have the RV here yet, I decided to set it up at home just to learn about the system and make sure it works. I started by downloading the app to my Android phone and then plugged the hub into the wall. Once the 2 were connected via bluetooth, the hub automatically found the wifi networks and I was able to set that up on my phone. It was pretty seamless but the process was different than described in the quick start manual.
The system came with 3 sensors and I found it odd that the batteries were already installed. Anyway, all 3 sensors showed up in the app but I couldn't tell which sensor in the list related to which sensor device. So, 1 by 1, I put the sensor device into a puddle of water which set off the alarm on the hub and showed which sensor in the list was setting off the alarm. From there, I was able to rename each device and assign them to an area and room. The app is a bit confusing to me and I am still not used to navigating through it.
Anyway, the system seems well made and robust. Other than the user interface of the app, I think it is well designed. It has several features listed on the Amazon page (which I still have not found). The alarm sound can supposedly by changed but I found that the factory setting was just right, it wasn't piercing when by the hub but you could easily hear it on other floors.
Overall, I think this is a good system and a good value at $60.

These water/flood sensors work very well and I am happy with how easy the setup process was. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't connect these to my existing SmartLife(Tuya) account, but the app seems to be well designed. My only real frustration is that the app doesn't seem to have the ability to change the alarm sound per-sensor, nor does the alarm unit say verbally which sensor was triggered. Either option would go a long way toward improving the experience with these.

Winees is a brand that I have tried in the past with Aidot app. We just had new vanities installed and there was some leaking, rather than remembering to check for any new water leaks and great peace of mind I put a water sensor near each drainpipe in new vanity and the hub located in the bedroom. really surprised who quickly the hub connected and upon default all 3 sensors were already connected. easy and setup to less that 2 minutes.

It's so convenient that I can monitor through the app instead of going upstairs and downstairs to check. It is working perfectly so far, and I would recommend this detector to protect your house!

?The Wi-Fi Water Leak Detectors by Winees, is a great idea that has brought me some much welcomed confidence in my leak detections plan. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.

    I. Quality – They feel like they’re well made, but not exceptional. Good enough to instill confidence.
II. Performance – I haven’t needed them yet, but I tested them multiple times and they never failed to alert me of the impending disaster. I wish they had a longer range then the stated 300 Feet. The set-up was fairly easy and quick since I already had the app.

Overall, these have provided me great piece of mind, that I’m doing what I can to help prevent a leak from turning into a personal catastrophe. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.

If you’d find it helpful to see an up-close visual inspection of this product, I recommend you watch my included video in full screen or landscape. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, well it’s a video!

You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.

Setting up the water leak sensors was very easy. After plugging in the hub, the app instantly recognizes the device is ready to pair. I just follow the setup in the app, push a button on each of the sensors, and done! Before setting the sensors in the desired location, I tested each of them by dipping them in water. Everything worked well as expected, and received an alert notification on my phone.

It's tough to grade these things when what truly counts is that they work in the event of flooding and or suboptimal water levels being introduced wherever you've placed the puck(s), so the only way to review them and other similar products fairly, in light of no water events having happened since purchase, is to grade them on their ease of setup, the app and user interface and ideally a few dry runs, whereby you artificially introduce liquid to the sensors and observe their reaction, if any and assuming they function properly, how long it took to get notified etc. With all of that said and based on all of that criteria, I can't possibly rate this kit any less than five stars. It was a cinch to set up, responded very quickly and quite audibly to the "just for funsies/don't panic" tests - and this kit gets extra points here because it has a separate hub that you can place upstairs or closer to wherever you may be, assuming that like me, the whole reason you need the sensors in the first place is that you're not in close proximity to the area that is most prone to flooding. I would imagine Wi-Fi coverage plays a role here but fortunately the 2.4GHz band is robust and able to cruise through walls and floors, etc., so anybody with any wireless network should be golden. The other system I have in place works well also but it is inferior where notification not requiring a device be on your persons at all times/app notification is concerned. Not only do I often not have my phone in my hand or even in my pocket when I'm at home but even when I do, phones are so prone to killing background tasks these days that even the least offending of cell phone vendors and their respective makes/models of phones are still subject to occasionally have app notifications delayed. If you've ever noticed a slew of notifications come in at once, assuming you didn't just enter into network coverage or a Wi-Fi coverage area while previously having none, then the culprit is background task killing (this may be specific only to Android users, I'm not sure what the deal is with iOS re: background task killing. For more info on this check out don'tkillmyapp.com). For reference, I have a Google Pixel 6 Pro. Pixel/Nexus devices are among the very best where task killing is concerned yet my P6P is still occasionally prone to this sort of delayed / batch notification situation, and that's having unrestricted battery permissions set to all the apps of any importance. Bottom line, it's hard to get this in check and for that reason, it is especially advantageous to have a option to be notified that is not dependent upon a device or an app and will work regardless of whether or not your phone may have died etc, especially when you're talking about 30 to 60 seconds here or there possibly being the difference between a minor annoyance and many thousands of dollars worth of damage. I believe that even on the second floor of my home, two floors up from the sensors & one floor up from the hub - I should have no problem hearing the alarm so in the event that my phone has decided to have one of its lapses in communication, I shouldn't have any problem being notified straight away.

The only thing I'll say as a sort of caveat to all of this is not anything that the product could control for but is still something to be aware of; regardless of whether or not the hub is in earshot, the entire system depends critically on having that network connection mentioned above (even if it is the lowly 2.4 GHz band lol). So if your network is at all prone to instability or you share WiFi or any other number of scenarios that might lead to spotty coverage in the area that you plan on placing the sensors and hub, you may want to think about either getting a more dependable/stable network connection or reinforcing it with something like a mesh network or similar means of extending your network coverage.

Here's hoping that between this system of water sensors and the other inferior but also effective system I have in place in tandem will prevent me from sustaining any significant water damage preferably ever again but I guess we'll see. Obviously I'll update this if anything should happen to the contrary but I'm optimistic. I wish the same for you and your home, apartment, living space, squatting grounds, etc., etc.

We have suddenly been hit with water in the basement from crazy rains we have never seen before. When it first happened, it caught us by surprise and we were sucking water for days and couldn’t seem to keep ahead of it because we caught it so late. One of the most stressful parts was the need to keep checking to see if there was more water.

Enter this water sensor. In trying it out, thankfully without a flood, we are pleasantly surprised by how sensitive the 3 sensors are. We have placed them in 3 different areas that we feel the need to keep checking and the alarm is on the main floor so we can hear it. Frankly, it is so loud that we are keeping it a distance from us since it scares the dog. And us. It is that loud. Good thing that the volume level is adjustable on the alarm.

We actually don’t have a need for the WiFi alert since someone is always home and we are basically using it to monitor the times when the rains overwhelm the foundation and flood the basement. The sensors can be moved wherever the current need it and we like that a lot. Sometimes the attached garage gets run-off from
the driveway, which is a common problem in this neighborhood and we have the flexibility to place a sensor there.

I am telling my neighbors about this unit since I am sure they will also find it useful for those times. Forewarned is forearmed, as they say, and catching the water when it is first happening saves a lot of aggravation and money. This is a nice unit that I am glad we have.

These are a great idea. Will be very useful to detect any leaks.
I had trouble at first getting them to work connect with the Wi-Fi, but after some time, they locked on. One drops out occasionally, but it's probably because it's farthest from the W-Fi router. I'll have to play with things a little more. They seem a little sensitive to placement.

    Overall, a good product.

Easy setup and relatively intuitive app. Worked right out of the box once I downloaded the app. I set the water sensors near the back door to my garage that floods at times with heavy rain. I'm hoping the sensors will trigger with minimal water entry. I tested them out and they do seem to with a very thin film of water. Looking good so far.

After opening the package, I glanced at the little manual and found the name of the app to download. It was easy to find and install on my android phone. I set the little manual down and just followed the app instructions after that. The hub was easy to connect to my network. I was happy to learn that the three sensors were already paired with the hub.

I then placed the sensors, 1 at a time, in water to make them alarm. This allowed me to determine which one was which so that I could change the name in the app. So, I named them and placed them in the place indicated by the name.

Once I had them all labeled and put in position, I picked one back up and placed it back in the water. I immediately received a notification on my watch that there was water detected.

The pins on the back of the sensor which detect water are well position so that only a small amount of water is needed to activate the alarm.

The app is super easy to use and I like that I can label each device to know where a problem exists. The paring of the devices before shipping makes it east to install and set up.

The only negative comment I have is that the hub / alarm is too large. When plugged into a receptacle, you are not able to use the other receptacle due to its size. I did not see this as an issue worthy of reducing my rating.

I got these at just the right time. The day I got them the landlord replaced the bathroom sink, and was very paranoid about leaks. I was able to set his (and my) mind at ease by placing one of these sensors under the new sink. The main reason I got them is because I've historically had problems with the garage flooding in heavy rainstorms. It hasn't happened in a while, but placing one of these sensors out there allows me to not be paranoid and have to run out in the rain to the garage (separate building) to check to make sure it's dry. The third sensor goes behind the washing machine, which we have had leak issues with before.

I have not tested these yet by actually simulating a leak to see how the sensor works. But I've tested them with their built in test button. The alarm is plenty loud to get your attention, even if you're asleep in another room. The hub also sends an alert to your phone, via the app, which you can use to dismiss the alarm.

A downside is the app requires registration, and it's tricky to name the sensors and keep them straight. Another downside is that if the phone that controls the app isn't around to dismiss an alarm (travelling or something) then anyone else in the house will have to physically stop the alarm on the hub.

But mainly I'm looking forward to sleeping soundly when it's raining and not worrying about the garage.

This cleverly designed water leak detection kit has a bit of a learning curve, so start out by spending some time with its quick-start guide and the "AiDot" app (available for Apple or Android). The system comes with a plug-in hub (about 3 inches in diameter) and three small, powered puck-shaped detectors (batteries are included).

Start by locating the hub in a central part of your home for maximum range and connecting to your WiFi network. I initially plugged the hub into a wall socket on the ground floor of our 2 story home and easily paired each of the water leak detectors. This is done by pressing down on the top of each detector puck (which has a hidden button under the housing) - the hub emits a siren sound to confirm.

Once paired, I moved the 3 detectors to a couple of bathrooms and a laundry room and tested them again. One sensor at the far end of the ground floor lost the connection, even though the stated range is around 300 feet according to the manual. I suspect being located at floor level on a concrete slab halves that range, so I re-positioned the hub in a central location on the second floor which fixed the issue.

The AiDot app has a LOT of options and appears to support an entire eco-system of home automation tools. Finding your way around all the settings is worth the time since you can rename the sensor locations, set up SMS and email alerts, and configure other details of your particular installation. There are quite a few help notes buried in the menus if you get lost.

I think this product is currently a work in progress since the app crashed once, but the apparent quality of the hardware seems solid and well designed.
